Today, we are going to take a look at design blunders that are not only bad form, bad taste, or bad practice, they are also unnecessary. As you are coming up with ideas of what to include in your vehicle wrap, there are some things that should be avoided. Here are some tips for avoiding vehicle wrap blunders. North Jersey business owners should refrain from
1. Not Including Enough Information
All of your important information needs to be included in your wrap design. For example, your business’s URL, company name, logo, and phone number should be visible from all directions.
2. Using Tiny Text and Logos
As your car speeds by people on the road, they will not be able to ready really small text. Instead, they will be able to see large, legible fonts from a distance. To ensure onlookers search for more information about your business after viewing your car wrap, use a large version of your most current logo. For brand consistency, make sure it matches what you have on your website. This way, they will know they have found the right company online when they see the same image from your fleet vehicles.
3. Including Too Much Information
With vehicle wrap design, less is more. No one is going to be able to understand or read your wrap if you load it down with images and text. While we are on the road, we see many examples of bad vehicle wraps. North Jersey trucks will often have a complete listing of their services and images of their work and products. This just sends a confusing message.
4. Clip Art Images
It is next to impossible to keep small clip art images from becoming incredibly pixelated when you incorporate them into a car wrap. Plus, these images look unprofessional and cheap. Our graphic design team at The Sign Center creates top quality custom marketing graphics.
5. Incorporating Irrelevant Images
You will likely hurt rather than help your business’s advertising efforts if you use images that do not relate to your products or services. This includes images that are based on an inside joke or a cheesy tagline. These images will confuse your target audience, even if they may seem funny at first.
6. Developing an Irrelevant Logo
Anything that could distract from marketing your services or your own business should be left off of your wrap. You will detract from your own logo advertisements if you cover your back window in different bumper stickers. It is best to avoid tacking on extra logos to your truck unless you are actually sponsored by the company.
7. Using Low Resolution Images
Wraps are professional advertisements that market and reflect your business. Your wrap will look poorly made and tacky with low res images. Plus, people will have trouble telling what the image is, since it will be obscured. It is much better to give wrap fabricators the biggest image size you can.
