Black Matte Vinyl Car Wraps North JerseyWhenever customers come to us looking for vehicle wraps, we always go over the many different options available to them. After going over the different types of wraps, we almost always get the same question: “What are matte black vinyl car wraps?” We are going to use today’s blog post to go over what matte black vinyl is and how you can best use it on your automobile.

Types of Matte Black Vinyl

A special vinyl specifically manufactured and designed for cars is used in vehicle wraps. When applied to any vehicle, matte black vinyl car wraps for North Jersey create a one of a kind appearance. Matte gives off a flat and dull look that lacks shine. This causes it to stand out among the typical shiny, flashy cars. There are many other matte wrap colors available, such as white, silver, green, and gray, but black is by far the most popular.

There are a couple different kinds of matte color wrap:

  • Printed Matte Black and Laminated – The color black is printed on a standard white cast vinyl and then laminated using a matte laminate.
  • Solid Matte Black Cast Vinyl – This is the best type of matte black vinyl, since it is created by the manufacturer in solid color form. We use the best known brand for matte black wraps: 3M.

3M Black Matte Vinyl Car WrapsSince you can get the truest matte black color from the second type, it is always preferred. The matte black color that results from the first type is never as rich regardless of the printer quality and cast film used.

One of the Vinyl Materials We Trust

We use one of the best matte black vinyl on the market: 3M 1080 Series. Without the need for an over laminate, it provides durability and dimensional stability with a dual cast film designed specifically for car applications. Until we apply firm pressure, we can reposition and slide the film over the surface of your vehicle until it is precisely where you want it. This is due to the pressure activated adhesive used. We can wrap virtually any part of your vehicle without seams because of this.

Ways to Install Matte Black Wrap

  • Full Wrap – This method involved covering the entire exterior of the vehicle including the mirrors. In addition, to hide the original color of the car, the insides of the hood, trunk, and door panels are also wrapped.
  • Full Exterior Wrap – This is the same as above, only the inside panels are not wrapped. Therefore, when the doors are opened, the original color of the car will show through.
  • Partial Wrapping – This involves applying the matte black wrap to only certain areas of your vehicle, such as the bottom trim, hood, and mirrors.
