Custom Aluminum Composite Signs for Bikeland in New Jersey

Our shop recently had the opportunity to work with the friendly folks at Bikeland. The family-owned business operates two locations: one at 146 Main Street in Chatham and the other at 461 Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell. When the company needed custom aluminum composite signs in New Jersey, they called our team to assist with the project.

Digitally Laminated Prints on Aluminum Composite Panels

The client needed building signs, but they did not want standard 3D building letters or illuminated products such as channel letters or a box cabinet. Instead, the business owner wanted something that would stand out but encapsulate the small business atmosphere. Aluminum composite signs were the best option.

This material consists of a plastic core sandwiched between two aluminum sheets. It creates a rigid surface that prevents bowing or buckling. Moreover, it gives the signs plenty of stability – even in more extreme temperatures.

For the facings, our technicians designed and fabricated digitally laminated prints. They showcase the brand message with bold colors, crisp lines, and a matte finish that makes the products easy to read. We installed the panels to maximize brand exposure. Besides that, we added a board to the post and panel sign. It echoes the design and assists customers with wayfinding.

Alternatives to Aluminum Composite Panels

Of course, aluminum composite is only one option. Plenty of other signage setups could be ideal when traditional building signs are not what you are looking for.

  • Framed aluminum building signs. These signs consist of a flat aluminum sheet to which we add a frame. The framing gives it a 3D appeal that our clients like.
  • HDU. High-density urethane is a fantastic material that has a stunning appeal. We can sandblast it, carve it, or use the router to put on your corporate persona. Choose from a painted sign look, gilding, or color fill-ins.
  • PVC. Another budget-friendly material is PVC. It looks nice, is durable, and allows you to see your brand colors presented on the building’s facade in a chic, budget-friendly way.

Secondary Signage Solutions That Boost Name Recognition and Brand Awareness

Once you have the building sign in place, it is time to consider secondary signage. These are the types of products that echo your brand message, maybe explain a little more about your products, or highlight what makes you relevant to the consumer today. A case in point is a monument sign. In the case of Bikeland, the client opted for a post and panel design. It works well and offers wayfinding to a first-time customer.

Another signage solution is the design, production, and installation of window graphics. They can frame a window, act as a complete window wrap, or present specific co-branding opportunities. Moreover, some clients have had good results with flags, outdoor menu boards, and A-frame signage.
