Custom Vehicle Graphics - what can affect the price you pay

vehicle graphics, vehicle wrapsCustom vehicle graphics are a great form of advertising for business owners who wish to set their fleet vehicles apart from the competition. The graphics serve as mobile marketing which spreads their company's name around the town. Custom vehicle graphics can also set a consumer's vehicle apart from the stock on the dealer’s lot using a design which complements your interests and lifestyle. The price of custom vehicle graphics is dependent on a number of factors.

Consultation: When you decide to purchase custom vehicle graphics, your first step is to design your graphics.  Many vehicle graphics vendors have on staff designers that can meet with you to examine your design, discuss design ideas or create an original concept.  If the vendor does not have a designer, you can meet with an independent designer.  Most of these consultations will be at a flat fee based on a set number of revisions.  Additional changes are usually incurred at a per hour cost.

Materials: Custom vehicle graphics can be made from a variety of different materials such as vinyl, liquid laminate, sheet laminated or perforated film.  As the quality and durability of the materials increase, so does the price.  The vinyl is the most durable choice and is less likely to tears and pull. While this material has its benefits, the adhesive may be difficult to remove from your vehicle surface.

The cost of materials will be determined on a square footage basis, much like carpet purchases.  The amount of material you will need to purchase may be more than expected.  This overage is required in order to cut your design out in one solid piece.  Applying one solid piece rather than piecing multiple sections together will result in a finished product with less lines, breaks and alignment issues.

Installation: When your custom vehicle graphic has been produced, it needs to be applied to your vehicle.  You need to pick a vendor or installer with ample experience.  If your graphics are not installed properly, they cannot be repositioned.  You will pay more for experienced vendors who specialize in graphics installation.

Vehicles with multiple curves and uneven lines rather than a flat, boxy frame are more difficult canvases.  Expect to pay a surcharge for these vehicles due to the extra effort required from the installer.  The size of your graphics, complexity or the amount of vehicle being covered will all raise the installation charge.
