How fast can you read a sign

Posted by Gary Baron on Thu, Apr 16, 2009 @ 10:59 AM

Have you ever noticed signs when you travel. Just the road signs offer you information in just a few words. When it comes to signage less is best. Viewing signage is very different form viewing a printed magazine it is viewed from a distance and needs to have enough space for the words and visual to communicate the message. So the next time you pass a sign in your car or walking see if you can read the total message the first time or do you need repeat visits to capture it all. If you need to return a second time than the sign is not a very good sign, and if it is your sign you are loosing potential business from people who do take the time to come back to read it again.
