A Little About the NPPD and the Ford Interceptor
The New Providence Police Department’s (NPPD) mission is to serve and protect without bias in a professional and efficient manner. Their goal is to instill a sense of security while enhancing the community’s quality of life. Officers are vigilant in their patrol efforts. And, in addition to their regular duties, they are aware of their role as national security agents tasked with guarding us from terrorist threats.
The NPPD uses the Ford Interceptor. This car is specifically designed for and only available to our country’s police departments. One of the many strengths that have defined the Ford Police Interceptor is its ability to pass a 75 mile per hour rear crash test. The vehicle has a strong tradition of providing extreme officer protection.

The NPPD came to us for Ford Interceptor Police vehicle graphics. North Jersey residents need to be able to recognize police vehicles in cases of emergency or to just feel secure. We were more than happy to help a department so crucial to our area. After an in-depth initial consultation where we listened to what the NPPD envisioned for their new SUV and their budget. We were able to create a proof for their approval.
The Sign Center already had experience creating vehicle graphics for police departments, so we understood the importance of making the lettering readable for far away. So, we used high contrast vinyl colors. We also included the New Jersey police badge and a reminder to call 9-1-1 in an emergency on each side. In the end, we had another satisfied customer.

Since police departments rely on trust to get their job done and branding assists in building a sense of trust between the people and an organization, no entity needs branding more than the police. Trust in the police department is what communities want. These are the women and men who stop crime, look out for the safety of the community, and respond to emergencies. We wanted to capture this with the NPPD police vehicles, so we incorporated the same green and yellow colors from the New Providence website and other materials representing the city into the vehicle graphics. In this community, the green and yellow colors inspire trust.
