Summit Health Cares — AKTIV Center Signage & Graphics

The Challenge

Summit Health Cares opened the AKTIV Center at Summit Health’s Lawrence Pavilion in Berkeley Heights, NJ. It is the first AKTIV Center in the United States, a place where people in cancer treatment and early survivorship take part in guided exercise programs built around their care.

A space like this has to feel welcoming, energizing and easy to find your way around. Summit Health Cares needed one partner to handle every part of it: a bold illuminated sign out front, artwork to bring the walls to life, clear wayfinding for patients and visitors, and finishing touches on the glass and walls.

The Solution

The Sign Center designed, manufactured and installed a complete signage and graphics package for the new center.

Illuminated main branding

The AKTIV name and its runner logo are built as reverse-lit channel letters, custom color-matched to the brand, with backlit LEDs that cast a soft halo onto the wall. It gives the center a confident, polished look from the moment visitors arrive.

Custom interior art panels

We produced and installed a series of custom graphic prints on clear acrylic, printed on the back face with a white backer for rich, vivid color and mounted on stand-offs so they float off the wall. The artwork runs through the center and along its corridors, adding warmth and motivation to the space.

Wayfinding & facility signage

A complete interior navigation package helps patients and visitors move through the center with ease:

• ADA-compliant room signs
• Wall-mounted acrylic wayfinding signs on stand-offs
• Suspended acrylic wayfinding signs
• Printed elevator directory inserts

Architectural vinyl graphics

Translucent vinyl on the entrance windows, frosted vinyl on the doors and wallpaper vinyl on feature walls tie the whole space together, adding privacy where it is needed and personality everywhere else.

The Outcome

Like many new facilities, the AKTIV Center came together on a tight timeline, and the plans kept evolving as the space took shape. Our team worked side by side with Summit Health Cares, adapting layouts and adding new pieces as they came up, while keeping production and installation on schedule.

Everything was in place in time for the center’s grand opening. The result is a space that looks and feels like the AKTIV brand, and one that both Summit Health Cares and our team are proud of.
