A Facility Signage Package in New Providence, NJ, Welcomes Patients

Posted by Gary Baron on Tue, Jan 2, 2024 @ 03:09 PM

The Sign Center Team has done a lot of signage for Summit Health. Examples include pin-mounted acrylic letters in East Windsor, office conversion signs in Emerson, and indoor wayfinding signs in Clifton. When the healthcare provider opened its primary health facility at 41 Spring Street, the client asked for a facility signage package in New Providence, NJ.

This project required the combination of a comprehensive sign package for healthcare facilities. We visited the location, discussed the signage needed with the client, returned to the shop, and got to work.

  • Imprinted awning. Our technicians created a blue awning in keeping with the Summit's brand colors. The patients' first welcome is large, white lettering and a logo rendition. This awning makes the entrance easy to see, which is critical for healthcare providers.
  • Blade signs. Blade signs are the ultimate interior wayfinding solution for facilities with a lot of foot traffic. Rather than only addressing patients standing in front of a desk, these double-sided signs are clearly visible from any corner of a room.

  • ADA-compliant facility signs. The Americans with Disabilities Act governs the design, manufacturing, and installation of ADA-compliant signs. They must feature Braille II, high-contrast color options, and should display pictographs that are easy to interpret. These signs must be mounted at specific heights. We enhanced the wayfinding capabilities by adding blade signs as well.
  • Room signs. To label the rooms, we used ADA-compliant signs with changeable inserts. We were able to keep them compliant by marking the room with its own number. However, the insert can be changed depending on what the physicians and their staff want to call the space.
  • Ceiling-mounted signage. When blade signs are not functional, we suggest using ceiling-mounted panels. They are ideal for mounting in the middle of hallways, at junctions, or anywhere else you want to assist patients with finding their way around. We recommend multi-panel signs that let us update and change out panels. It is handy when you change room usage or add to the facility.

What Makes Wayfinding Signs Excellent?

Our graphic artist routinely works with clients who need facility signage packages. We have determined that the high-contrast colors, arrows, and matte finishes of the products make the signs easy to read. Secondary is the selection of installation sites. When we undertake a site survey, our team identifies the ideal spacing for the products. It ensures that you maximize the exposure of the information.
