Summit Health had another project for our team. This time, the client needed new medical facility signage in Union County, NJ.

Healthcare Signage in New Providence
Summit Health is an established client. We initially provided a facility signage package in New Providence for the medical center at 41 Spring Street. However, Summit also operates a facility at 890 Mountain Avenue.
It is there that the client added to the facility and asked our team to update existing signage, remove outdated signs, and replace logos when new departments were incorporated into the wayfinding setup.
Since we keep the client’s details on file, we could get to work right away and produce the needed wayfinding signs with Summit’s branding. With the signage in hand, our installers prepared the surfaces for installation and then mounted the signs. The medical facility signage now blends in beautifully with the already existing healthcare signs.

Meeting the Challenge of Adding New Signs to Already Existing Signage at a Facility
There is more to designing, producing, and installing healthcare signs in Union County than you might imagine. Because medical facilities often expand or change individual departments, these clients often require updated signs. That said, it is critical that you work with a full-service sign shop that understands the challenges of this type of project.
Design Consistency
Whenever you combine new and existing signs, there is the danger of a visual mismatch. Differences in color, font, or even materials can make the facility feel disjointed. The goal of any signage addition is to have the new products blend in seamlessly with the already existing products.
Wayfinding Errors
Clients want their patients to be able to locate departments at a glance. Whenever we put together Union County hospital signage systems, our team goes to great lengths to verify the wayfinding details. Failure to do so can lead to contradicting messages or a signage setup that disrupts the flow of foot traffic.
Patient Experience
If signs are not well-matched, they make a space look cluttered. For the patient, the mix of signs gives the facility an outdated feel. Even the most subtle inconsistencies can jarringly affect patients. We diligently conduct site surveys to prevent mismatched signs and contradictory messages.
