Correctly marking parking garage floors is an integral aspect of an effective wayfinding system. Retail customers, hospital patients, and apartment residents appreciate the ease with which they can find their way around. Other venues where these types of wayfinding markers matter are airports, self-parking structures, and colleges. Recently, The Sign Center had an opportunity to work with a client on revamping their parking setup with number-level parking signs, also known as multi-level parking signs or parking garage signs.
Summit Health Entrusts The Sign Center with a Parking Garage Wayfinding Project
Summit Health is a returning client. In the past, our technicians did a laser-cut 3D letter, stud-mounted lobby sign for the office. When the client reached out to us this time, the clinic discussed the need for parking numerals to help visitors with wayfinding in the structure.
Our technicians fabricated products that display different colors. It makes the numerals and lettering easy to see because they contrast nicely with the gray and yellow colors of the columns. We decided to word the signage “You are on Parking Level 5.” It is clear, combines the lettering with numerals, and acts as an ideal wayfinding product.
For the other levels, our technicians selected different color schemes. For example, on level four, the colors are black print on a yellow backdrop. The darker color is instrumental in providing the contrast with the poles that feature a yellow stripe. For level three, the color palette changes to a white print on a green background; level two features a white print on a red backing.
Combining colors, numbers, and letters helps patients remember their parking level easier than if the client had opted for color uniformity.
Aluminum Panels Have Many Purposes
For parking lot signs, aluminum panels are ideal. They are durable in changing temperatures, which makes them good choices for interior and exterior displays. Moreover, installing an anti-graffiti laminate is always an option, which protects your investment in areas such as parking garages or rear-facing exterior walls.
Of course, other signage solutions work well with aluminum or aluminum composite materials. The composite consists of two thin sheets of aluminum with a polyethylene core. The advantage of this setup is the lightweight nature of the products. Our technicians can paint, imprint, or cut the material for 3D letters and numerals.
Our business clients have used the products as building signs, wayfinding markers, point-of-sale products, and fence displays such as architectural renderings of constructions sites.
The Sign Center Specializes in Working with a Wide Variety of Materials
Aluminum is only one of the materials that you might select for your next project. Whether you need number-level parking signs, lobby signs, or something else altogether, it is a budget-friendly option that appeals to many business clients from a wide variety of industries.
Another set of materials to consider is acrylic and sign foam. Acrylic is an indoor or outdoor product that mimics glass but without its brittle nature. Sign foam comes in different ratings, which lets you pick the products you need and save money in the process.
