Our latest building sign project, using custom push-through letters in Closter, NJ, combines the effectiveness of face-lit channel letters with the elegance of a custom back panel. What is an Acrylic Letter Push-Through Building Sign?

Opening the door for LED illumination, push-through letters mounted to a backer panel feature dimensional acrylic lettering aesthetics. The result is a contemporary and high-visibility display. Interestingly, there are only three components to this signage solution.

• Acrylic letters. To produce push-through letters with a three-dimensional look, we use thick, translucent acrylic that we cut into your desired font. We mount them to a backer panel, so they project through its material. Illumination passes through the letter faces.
• Backer panel. Choose aluminum, aluminum composite materials, or another opaque substrate. Our technicians precision-cut the openings to hold the acrylic letters snugly. We suggest painting the panel in one of your brand colors. For gradient color changes or intricate designs, we recommend adding printed vinyl overlays.
• LEDs. We place the LEDs inside the panel, behind the acrylic push-through letters. Depending on the design, they will illuminate the edges, faces, or both of the acrylic letters. LEDs are energy-efficient, long-lasting, and can be customized for color and brightness.

Case Study: Younique Health

A new Bergen County gynecology and functional medicine practice, Younique Health specializes in personalized care. The client needed a building sign that would be as unique as its wellness model. They opted for a face-lit setup that would allow the front surfaces of the letters to glow. Our technicians painted the backer panel in the clinic’s teal brand color and the acrylic letters white. To replicate the logo portion, we printed a vinyl laminate overlay for the intricate design and color changes. The finished product looks interesting and immediately catches the eye.
