One of the eye-catching architectural elements is the slight curving of the focal wall. Incidentally, this is where the client wanted to place a lobby sign. Curved Signage Adds a Fantastic Presentation to your Lobby
Installing signs on a curved wall is possible. In this case, the client requested acrylic. Our team went to work cutting out a quarter-inch-thick elongated panel. To the back of the board, we mounted frosted vinyl. It gives the illusion of turning the panel into factory-treated specialty glass.
We added the printed overlay featuring the law firm’s lettering for the front. The colors perfectly match the corporate persona the client had already on file. The installation would be a little tricky. It required our specialists to take specific measurements that ensured a perfectly level panel mount. The final installation used specially-mounted brushed aluminum standoffs that help the panel maintain the curvature.
This sign looks great, perfectly follows the wall’s curve, and does an excellent job t contributing to the office’s brand story.
Signage Options for Curved Walls
A quarter-inch-thick acrylic panel is an excellent idea. To the untrained eye, the product looks as if you had a pane of glass treated at great expense. In reality, the acrylic sign is budget-friendly and dramatically adds to the elegance of the space.
That said, there are other options, too. A good example is the use of vinyl wall decals and lettering. Our technicians would print the decals and cut out the elements for this type of project. We then space them correctly and install them directly on your wall.
Another option is using three-dimensional letters that we install with pin mounts. This method would allow us to mount them following the curve or present them straight as an opposite visual element.
