One of our favorite end of summer events takes place in nearby Boonton. The Boonton Firemen’s Labor Day Weekend Carnival & Celebration attracts thousands of people from all over the area. What Is the Boonton Labor Day Parade?
Each year on the Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of Labor Day Weekend, the Boonton High School Field hosts a carnival featuring all of your favorite midway rides, including a Ferris wheel, the Gravitron, Fun Slides, merry-go-rounds, and more. There is also a pig roast, fireworks, and live bands each night.
One of the most popular features of the celebration is the Saturday afternoon parade that begins at Grace Lord Park on West Main Street and finishes up on the Boonton High School Field. All sorts of organizations are welcome to participate, and there are dozens of awards handed out for such things as Best Band, Best Appearing Vintage Motor Apparatus, Best Parade Uniform, and many more.
