Sign foam is one of the most versatile, eco-friendly, and inexpensive sign options in the industry today. Foam letters are used for a broad range of applications both outside and in. Fortunately, The Sign Center is one of the top suppliers of foam letters in North Jersey. Today, we are going to look at how you can put these markers to work for your enterprise.
How Foam Letters Are Used
Foam letters are the way to go when you want to give a 3D letter sign, monument sign, or any other marker a dimensional look. When you pick a 3D letter sign, the foam letters are usually applied to an aluminum composite panel.
Foam letters are often used on the large monument signs installed next to the entrances of parking lots for many complexes and buildings. You may not have even noticed they were made of foam. This is because sign foam is great at mimicking other materials. These letters cost just a fraction of the price of other products but provide the same level of durability. In fact, foam letters can generally withstand repeated blows from a hammer and high-speed winds.
Foam letters are most often used where wood was once popular because it does not decompose, crack, or rot like wood does. It is totally waterproof and can withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -30 degrees to 200 degrees.
Types of Foam Letters
We offer three primary types of foam letters. They are:
Painted Foam Letters – Painted Gatorfoam letters are a high-density, lightweight foam with a smooth, hard veneer surface. For a custom reception area sign, they provide an affordable way of producing raised letters. We can custom paint the letters any color you want or laminate them with Formica, acrylic, or hundreds of other custom laminates. Thicknesses range from half an inch to two inches.
Painted HDU Letters – Wherever extreme weather is a factor, painted high-density urethane (HDU) letters can be used outside. It will not crack when exposed to the elements and is resistant to moisture and rotting. We typically paint these letters with top-quality outdoor paint in any color you want. However, they can also be laminated with aluminum or acrylic. These are available in thicknesses of half an inch up to three inches.
Exterior Letterfoam Letters – Painted Letterfoam is similar to Gatorfoam, except it is more heavy duty. It is a two-pound density foam with a smooth aluminum surface. They are very cost-effective exterior letters with long lifespans, and they give off the impression of thick, painted solid metal letters. They come in thicknesses of one inch to three inches.
