Charley's Aunt is a long-time client. A delightful place for an excellent meal with great ambiance, we previously assisted the restaurant with upgraded building signs. This time, the client requested a custom outdoor blade sign in Chatham.

Adding a Custom Carved Blade Sign to an Existing Building Sign

When we initially worked with the team at Charley's Aunt, we updated the exterior three-dimensional building letters with a contemporary HDU carved sign featuring metal 3D letters. This time, the client wanted to add a fully customized blade sign. It features the restaurant's attractive logo, complete with a splash of color. We have added a contemporary mounting system that complements the restaurant's exterior ambiance. The finished product is an excellent addition to the client's exterior branding and marketing signage.

Should You Add Blade Signs to Already Existing Building Letters? Yes!

For starters, doubling up on the signage increases street-level visibility. Because blade markers project perpendicular from the wall, they target prospective customers approaching from both directions. Remember that wall-mounted signs are typically best seen head-on, which means that the additional signage allows your business to get noticed earlier.

Combining building and blade signs also gets more attention from passersby. If your company is located in a busy shopping district or downtown, where people typically walk close to the storefronts, the blade sign immediately captures attention. Similarly, the signage combination enhances wayfinding. We have already discussed improving branding through signage; however, did you know that the sign jutting out from the wall perfectly complements your primary sign without competing with it?

Improve Your Venue's Aesthetic Appeal

Blade signs add to your company's curb appeal. Notice how Charley's Aunt is using the brand color to contrast beautifully with the building's paint. This combination creates a polished, professional image that is sure to draw in passersby. If you operate a company with limited facade space, the blade sign is a smart way of adding more visibility without crowding the exterior.

For businesses that want to extend their advertising and brand building around the clock, we recommend illuminated blade signs. If you are introducing your brand to the local business community for the first time, consider adding visibility upgrades, such as pylon or monument signs, to enhance your presence.
