Objective:  fabricate and install the L’Oreal logo on their new building.

Building: 4 story new building designed by L’Oreal for their new headquarters in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. Built with 8’ tall by 32’ wide by 6” thick granite slabs which were mounted to a steel superstructure.

Solution: We designed the sign with the knowledge it faced a corporate park with exposure to an interstate highway. The sign can be seen at night from the hundreds of autos on the interstate highway without overpowering the rest of the corporate park.

We designed the sign to be 4’ high backlighted LED letters; the letters were made of stainless steel and painted to the corporate standards of L’Oreal.

Installation:After mapping out our solution and working with the construction company for the project our assessment was to mount the letters at the stone quarry / fabricator in a controlled environment and as part of the installation for the 8’x32’ granite panel to be lifted as part of the construction process and lit upon installation.

Process:The sign was successfully mounted at the stone quarry, transported by tractor-trailer to the location, lifted up and installed in place by the construction company. We worked closely with L’Oreal, Turner Construction, the quarry. The sign stands atop of their new building as a symbol of design, fabrication, and coordination.
